    WTB Window Chrome

    Hey All

There's a few bits and pieces of cosmetic trim on my car I'd like to replace... I can thank a previous owner for attempting to "forward date" my car by sanding the anodising off all my alloy trim and painting it a tastefull gloss black. (probably the eighties )

Quite some time ago I stripped the black paint off and polished the alloy with Mother's Metal Polish - and it looks fine, but I have to keep polishing it. Anyway, I've been collecting bits and pieces and am keen to hear from anyone that may have some spare coupe exterior trim pieces; particularly the rear quarter window trim (base plating), and door chanels. Doesn't have to be concours standard... but nice.

    Cheers

    John,

I had all the aluminium trim on my car re-anodised. It doesn't matter what condition the original stuff is in as they have to polish it back to bare before beginning the process.
Email me if you want details.

      Hi Paul

I'll be sending you an email. I am a little concerned that the there are some gouges that may not be able to be repaired.

      Cheers

John, if you're having trouble finding options there's a crowd down here in Dandenong that specialise in polishing and refinishing car parts. I've used them to polish and re-anodize my window trims and was happy with the results. Turns out they've done a lot of work for various Porsche restorers. If interested I can hunt down their details.

                Found it!

They polished and anodised all my window trims and the 'fins' on my rear grill, which they meticulously straightened. Was happy with the results though they’ve always got plenty on so require some ‘heavy encouragement’ to get the job done.
