    Wanted - MSD 6AL & Tach Adapter

Just wondering if anyone has an MSD unit they want to get rid of and / or tach adapter (#8910).

    Thx

    There's a couple on evilbay... Plus there's a rip-off version a fair bit cheaper http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW-PROCOMP-C...QQcmdZViewItem

      Hi John,

Heaps on Ebay in the US, just thought I'd pose the question here first.

Saw the Procomp version and was a little concerned about getting things like tach adapters etc.

Have you had any issues over the years with yours?

I actually run a Crane XR700 and Optical Ignition... absolutely flawless over 7 years, definitely recommend it.

I bought a Pro-Comp fuel pump ( holley copy ) for my RS Replica and it was garbage. Leaked fuel like a sieve out of the base plate, which was both dangerous and annoying. The service from the guy that sold it was crap too - he offered to send me a new gasket. It wasn't the gasket - the base plate wasn't flat and the overall quality was very poor.

I wouldn't trust my ignition system to their parts - your car will stop and need a tow if it fails.

BTW - I run an MSD 6AL and didn't need a tach adaptor for my SC vintage electronic tach. Tach works perfectly.

I also have a spare, but I'm kinda hanging onto it for another project.

Thanks for the feedback Craig. With the amount of information available about fitting and troubleshooting the MSD unit, it makes it a pretty attractive proposition. Besides, the price differential between a slightly used MSD unit from the states and the local Pro-comp alternative isn't that great.
