WTB - Chrome engine grill (preferably a 69)

Hi all, this is my first post after a long period of lurking.

I am after a chrome engine lid grill for my 69 S, so preferably a 69 but am open to a later one. I currently have a black plastic one on the car.

This is one of the last things to do before an unvailing of the car with photos on the forum.

Also, if anyone has a chrome 911S badge, I would be interested in that as well.

    Thanks
    Nathan

I'm also looking for the same grill in chrome for a 69E but I'm not in a hurry but thought I would put my hand up on the back of this wanted ad. I'd even be happy to look at a new one if someone knows where to start looking.

    Cheers
    Jeff

Phil, I have only been able to find new gold badges, not chrome. I should probably change to gold lettering etc anyway.

Also, the seats I got from you are great, and get lots of compliments, thanks.

Keep an eye on the Pelican and Early S registry forums as they do appear for sale sometimes. If you do buy one that needs to be shipped make sure it’s packed well as the ‘fins’ are easily bent.

Thanks all. There are two on ebay now, but I haven't been able to get shipping quotes so am letting them both go at this stage. One ends in about an hour, but is already at US$344. I will keep looking.

Being new to 911s, maybe someone can help out with some info. My 69E project is missing the engine grill and I prefer the bright look rather than black. The Stoddard link above refers to '65-'68 models(SWB only?). Is there any interchangeability issues with later cars? Can black grills be plated or polished-I don't know what material they are? I'm not concerned with originality but simply the look. Any suggestions etc appreciated.

                  Cheers

dont think i'd like to pull one of the black anodised ones apart for polishing/ re-chroming- you could always go for an R type solution?

                    regards

If anyone has a damaged steel grill I am on the hunt for one.

                      Crappy is fine!

Jeff, as per Craig's advice this is the correct grill for a '69. If you're buying one be careful of the condition as fins are anodised aluminium and restoring is pretty involved.

They can be pulled apart and starightened think paul Wisher had it done and they did a great job. All the bars are numbered so easy to reassemble. Nathan you'll pay up to $500 for a great one and guess what they are not going to get any cheaper as time goes on

If anyone sees a piece of trim that goes under the rear side window (number 28, drivers side though), I'm on the hunt for one of those also....
