    Wanted: RHD Dash

    Hi folks,

Looking for a dash pad to replace the non-standard one (no speaker panel) fitted in my 2.2L. Preferably one that doesn't need any work, and in Sydney..

    Cheers,
    Gavin.

Oh I'm not Clyde... I can get one from US but it was suggested there might be one or two floating around locally... a well known purveyor of parts in Melbourne has one but it's a mess and they want top $$ for it...

Don't buy the leather covered ones from Sierra they do not fit properly!!!

I have a NOS one but the non removal speaker grille type and even it is still a bit lumpy in parts even though still in the Porsche box and never installed on anything

They are the ****ty repro RHD ones from the same supplier as all the LHD repro ones sold by lakewell, Carpoint, Sierra Madre etc recovered in in leather
to hid the flaws and I can tell you from experience they don't fit properly

Try Ziggy at Dash Original in Adelaide. He has recently made a new mold and the word on the street is they are quite good. I do not have any personal experience however.

At last someone has had a crack hopefully be good to hear from someone who has seen or bought one

The one we bought from Prostictch looked fabulous but didn't fit properly but he is too busy with normal work to worry about projects like a dash.

I doubt that Ziggy will do the grain that is required, his reskins are in HQ texture, take it or leave it.

That’s interesting Chris. The photo on his website shows the Porsche dash in a long grain material, whereas HQ dashes were Roebuck pattern. Maybe he has used a photo from somewhere else.

Cmon Chris as the resident SA man it is your duty to go check it out

Can't be more than 5 minutes form your house, isn't everything just 5 mins away in Adelaide.

I checked his web site and while it looks good in the pic it doesn't have a speaker grille

Probably still a better option than a mangled original though

I was surprised by that too. Zig has done some really good work for me in the past. I have to drop up there to see him about some other pieces soon, so will ask about the speaker grille. (20 minute drive for me from the city Clyde - the traffic is terrible up that way sometimes)
