Yes I thought the Healey Factory car was a conversion. Headlights and front tune signal lenses are a giveaway BUT they did change the wipers over, which I thought is not usually done. Interior dash looks OK if its converted, but as you say, one needs to be inspecting the inside trunk area under all the carpets, etc.
One thing I spotted is that is appears to have Deep 6 wheels on it and they are 15" . These alone are worth a lot of $$$$. Perhaps it could be a base for a good car to emerge from ?
The front pan is not a big deal to replace, parts are readliy available. Depends if there is rust on other far more expensive areas like sills, rear torsion tube, A pillars, rear parcel shelf, etc.
This is a reason I think our next workshop visit should concentrate on body work and those unseen problems areas.
Mark Johnson has again offered his and Dave's workshop where there is a shell there awaiting resto into an ST which has significant areas you dont normally see, all exposed.
I will try to get a date set ASAP.

The Healey guys are no novices, they price it at 26K for a reason.
There must be more issues with it.GroupS 76 3.0 Carrera http://typ901.org/showthread.php?t=4220
