1972 MFI USA T/E Tangerine LHD

1972T 91 MFI T/E, Left hand drive USA car , Highly original, all numbers matching, zero accident car, 95% original paint (stone chips come free) in way, way, way above average condition.

This is the one year only, sought after oil door model.

All S trim, front overriders and front and rear sway bars from new.

Starts first time, every time, drives the best of any Porsche I have owned and I have owned a few, rivalled only by my low mileage RS.

Rock solid no rattles shakes etc as you would expect from a car that has never been mucked with

69,000 original miles all books, toolkits etc. Not perfect, as I will outline shortly, but exceptional for it's age.

5 owners from new first imported into Australia in 2014, I purchased in 2017, had sat unused but garaged for for quite a while with the third owner in the USA.

Some of you will remember "Byron Bay Chris", he imported the car, I purchased from him.

Here are the three known issues with the car.

Battery acid had eaten a very small hole (less than 5 cents piece size) in the very front corner of the RHS battery box while the car sat idle for a number of years in the USA, the hole was there when I bought it, that hole is still there and has not grown in size in the past 5 years. I have rarely driven this car in the wet (see pic)

Also has a very small rust bubble under the front RHS headlight (a common problem for 72 cars) I was always going to remove the right guard to fix both problems never got around to it as neither has got any worse (see pic)

The third issue is a strange one on the RHS rear bumper there is also a touched up area maybe something struck it from underneath (see pic)

All 3 of these issues existed when I bought the car and have not changed in the last 5 years.

The rest of the car is 100% original metal in sensational condition. Factory cosmoline still evident all over the underbody of the car (see pics).

No rust evident anywhere, floor is in fabulous shape as good as you will ever see for a 50 year old Porsche

The car was delivered with comfort seats, not with the car when I bought it but at great expense I purchased a set of the perfect replica recaro sport seat brackets and a set of leather with Black and White hounds tooth Sport seats replicas from Deser. ($12,000) Really sets the interior off. Difficult to tell apart form real recaro sports seats.

Carpet is all original, a bit bare on both sills otherwise perfect.

Glass except front screen, all original and great condition

All anodised trim in fabulous shiny condition

Correct Michelin 185/70/15 tyres near new.

Correct date fuchs, black has been repainted badly original anodising and wheels in great shape.

    Correct radio that works

Perfect original door trims and door pockets.

New heat exchangers and exhaust all ceracoated.

    Alloy front brake calipers

All rubbers still original, door rubbers a bit worse for wear

Dash has a couple of smaller cracks but a new Porsche classic dash is included with the sale

The obligatory couple of minor oil leaks from value covers etc.

Offered here first for 72 hours before heading to Car Sales, Collecting Cars or similar

    $195k ONO

Thanks Patrick, have had a lot of fun on a lot of club drives with this car, more than held it’s own most times too.

It's a beautiful car Clyde, I remember seeing it both at Rennsport and Byron Bay. GLWS.
