    For Sale: 1971 911T

A recent acquisition has resulted in me, sadly, having to part with a car. The following will appear on Carsales any moment now.
    1971 Porsche 911T
    Matching numbers
Recently completed restoration to correct factory colour of French blue. Door skins and sills replaced in this panels off, glass out body restoration completed in February 2008. Recent engine refresh and gearbox rebuild with Bosch CIS fuel injection and Carrera chain tensioner upgrades.
This car is absolutely rust free and in excellent condition.
Original Blaupunkt radio with new speaker under new speaker grille in restored dashboard. This LHD car is a delight to drive and, as it is over 30 years of age, full registration is available in all states.
    Asking: $52,000 ono

      Hi Rich,
Yes, for a month I kept looking at that tangerine 3.6 RS replica for sale in Sydney. I finally flew down to have a close look and it arrives in Brisbane tomorrow.
Although I have the most understanding wife in the world, even I have to admit that there has to be a limit. There is simply no car space left. So we'll see what happens.
      Regards,
      John

T is well priced and looks great, good luck.

I think for WIW the tangerine car will be a lot of fun.

Thanks Andrew. I am really pleased with the '71T result.
With respect to the tangerine car, it certainly has some "get up and go" and I'm sure it will provide me with more than a few exciting moments.
          Regards,
          John

Hi John, that 71T has certainly come a long way from when I found it still painted Yellow. Given all the work I did on it plus what you have done, including getting it back to original French Blue, it should be a fantastic car for someone. I doubt there's anything left to do but fill the tank and head off for a great drive !

I am happy to vouch for aspects of the car that I know well for anyone interested. I have heaps of pics of all the work I did which I think I provided to John on CD ?

              Hi Phil,
I knew you'd recognise the car. The beautiful presentation of the engine compartment as a result of your work is a dead give away. It is a great car and I will be genuinely sorry to see it go.
              Regards,
              John

For those new members who probably havent followed this car, its a testament to how a car that struggled to get a mid teens price when sold on Australian ebay (from the guy i bought it off) , can now look so magnificent having had the attention put into it by both myself and John (especially the new paint), and will be a joy for someone to own and will no doubt, continue to increase in value and be a very useable daily driver.

I was very surprised at just how well this car ran when I drove it at one of our Nationals events down Gippsland way a few years back. For a 2.2, it went extremely quick. John knew it needed paint when he bought it as the French Blue was very evident underneath the bright yellow paint, so I was very pleased to see it back to its original colour.

Hopefully the car will remain in the club with a happy new owner.
