I am selling the engine out of the 72 targa I just imported as its not the original motor, but one from a 72 911T. Its a 2.4 with MFI and runs quite well.
Its still in the car and available to be test driven. Car is in melbourne.
It is to be sold complete as removed from the car (less gearbox). Its been fitted with a US aftermarket electronic ignition and has one SSI heat exchanger and on mild steel exchanger, both in good condition. Also fitted is a sport exhaust system (Bursch ??)
The engine smokes a little , most likely valve guides. but is still very driveable and useable as is. Could be bolted straight into a car or even used as an interim engine whilst yours get rebuilt.
I drove this car 2000 miles without a hiccup when I bought it in the USA and it only used the "normal" amounts of oil.
Am looking for offers around $6000.
