Whats a refurbished 2.2 motor and trani worth?

    Me again!

Trying to put a value on my spare 2.2 that came with my car:
five speed 901 gear box (untouched)
engine number is 6114983, 911/07 new main Bearings
    new big end Bearings
    new Cam Bearings
    new piston rings
    new timing chain guides
    new timing chain
    new hydraulic tensioners
    new valves
    new guides
    new seals and gaskets
    new kit on carbs
    new leads
    new plugs
Also, just had heater boxes jet coated (looks great)

Waiting for Phil to complete a leakdown.
    Having had the motor running

    Any thoughts?

    TIA

I'd guess around $8k... $10k if the gearbox is smooth and quiet.

Is it a T motor ? On carbs ? ifso, which model carbs ?

Gearbox could be worth $2000 - $3000 dependingfon condition. I just hunted one down and they are getting real hard to find (in good condition).

I reckon the engine is worth more, but depends on how it runs etc.

Ryan, as you well know, Clydes engine is a 2.4 MFI engine and I know you are taking a position on MFI pump futures.....

What everyone is forgetting is that this is a complete engine, and the money asked is not just the rebuild costs, its everything. Thats why I suggested people consider the cost of a good case, crank MFI system etc.

I already have a spare 2.4T engine which I am happy to sit on. Also have several sets of heat exchangers and other hard to get bits, as I am sure, do you.
