Hmm I wonder maybe the Bowdens car ex Brian Farmer from Vic.

Only 4 exist now so not many options and doubt its any of the others

if the description is even remotely correct....
" Aussie delivered 1973 2.7 RS 911 Porsche. One of the famous 6 delivered new here. Original, un-restored car with excellent history. Offers well over $300K please!"

it can't be the ex Brian Powers car 0335 (ex dawson damer, ex fitzy, ex dutton etc) that the Bowdens now have.
It has had a couple of restorations (big one in the 90's) and at least 2 colour changes as well (light ivory to Bahia red with Brian Power and back again or is it GP white (rather than light ivory) and red these days?)

The only non restored RS I know of is Lloyd Hughes car but I thought he would be taking it to his grave with him ...

        Cheers,
        Dennis.

Mmmm ... I had my suspicions and now they have been confirmed.

It is indeed Lloyd's car, and he's happy for it to be publicised.

Its available on an expressions of interest basis. If you're genuine I can pass on his contact details.

I believe he will be up at Bathurst with the car... if it hasn't found a new home by then.

Trevor Skinner has a totally unrestored car here in Melbourne, one owner last car bought in, he still has the 6" fuchs in a box and brand new as he ordered the car with 7 and 8 and Porsche charged you for the 8's and you the spare 6's as well.

Lloyds car has been "well" used at track days etc hasn't it.

Is that the fellow in Mornington ... somebody mentioned it was a tourist delivery?

Lloyd's car was supposedly the last Hamilton's had in stock ... its a late chassis number and he always refers to it as the last one (there were impact bumper 2.7's in the showroom when he took delivery).

Hugh - do we know where all 6 are ... I was thinking about this morning and can only account for 5? PM me if you wish

I'd prefer to say 'properly' used. Lloyd and his car have been a fixture of Porsche Club Sprints and Group S racing for many years.

I know someone who has looked at it and sure its Aussie its RHD but its series 3 missing lots of the good bits of series 1 and some of series 2, has had a few changes in body metal and accuaratley reflects its continual useage as it was intended (road and track) for over 37 years!!!

I am told it would require a fair bit of work (polite description) to make exceptional again and asking price is not yet reflective of that fact.

Don't shoot me thats what i am told and I have never ever seen the car.

                        Value?

Not that I'm in the market for something like this but it appeals to me as a well used car rather than an over restored show car. Not critical of your cars Clyde, but the patina adds value IMHO. I've had trophy winning restored bikes and you can get too afraid to use them.

Tough one to put a price on though given the lack of similar cars. If I win lotto tonight I'll be on the phone

                        cheers

69S should be worth heaps it has patina written down the side or is it ****box or rustbucket

Word is its promised to someone who has first dibs, price is North of $400k...I hope he gets it, wont be from me however, one of 110 RHD (I think) cars and one of 6 aussie cars over 500000km and on 4th engine etc etc with enough road dirt underneath to start a new garden I hear.

It will be interesting to see what it brings if we ever find out

I wish Lloyd well with the sale... I've shared the odd garage with him at Sprints, and always have a chat with him at the Historics.

Patina is making a comeback - witness the RS lightweight found in a Beirut garage Clyde.

And don't be so critical of the car - its been fairly represented in all of the stuff I've seen. It may not be concours, but the market (and the new owner) will ultimately determine what its worth.
