Actually just got contacted by someone off the DDK forum with a pair of lovely ones! Price to match, though... 500 quid....

Hey Rich, do you want to buy those grille mounted ones back off me??

Yes, I did see those ones, thanks Andrew...

...however, I just realised that I may actually be looking for the wrong ones... I think that the 128's have a different mounting set-up to those required for a 1969 and onwards. Can anyone confirm this, please? And if so, can the 128's be fitted to post '69 cars with some form of bracket modification, or am I dreamin'???

Mark, if you find some of these lights, they are very likely to be in poor shape as good ones command premium prices as mentioned (500GBP). You may find some close replicas off other geman cars like Benz etc. Worth hunting around other german car forums. Anything early P-car and rare attracts very high prices unfortunately. These are one of those items that many people want, and were also easily damaged in use over the years.

Hi Clyde... as per our conversation yesterday, I think I will stick with the horn grille mounted lights now, so if you can let me know who it was you said is going to be doing the repro grilles, that would be awesome! I did not realise that the 128's have a different mounting bracket to the 139's - a shame, really, as the 128's look soooo much nicer than the 139's!

Is this what you are looking for, two different lights but they look like they have the same bodies, possibly just swap out the lenses? Much cheaper!
