I find that very strange
the car it comes from
Chassis no. 911 360 1312
Engine no. 663 1287
UK Registration no. TUU 273M
Colour GP white/red.
was offered for sale /sold by Maxted (Andy Prill) in 2007 as "This exceptional 5-owner RS Touring was delivered new in August 1973 to Hove in Sussex and has a comprehensive documented history. Invoices detailing all work since new until 2007 are with the car, together with MoT certificates dating back to 1976. Even the original road tax disc from 1973 is still on the windscreen!"
and
"This is a rare opportunity to own a car that remains as originally shipped as regards engine, chassis, body colour and graphics, and is presented with such a detailed history and in such outstanding condition."
it was offered for sale by Hairpin in may 2008 with the following description
"Orig uk delivered RHD matching numbers
4 owners from new
First miss d Rogers took delivery from AFN on 1 august 1973 (birthday present from father)
Last service in her name 42000miles on 8 feb 1978
1979 autofarm sold it to charles agg. Autofarm serviced and redid gearbox
1982 sold to peter collard who had it looked after by auto farm till 1994
1994 sold to mike barnes by sinters of Nottingham
2002 full strip down and rebuild
Full documentation from new"
it was then offered for sale again in June 2009 in Surrey with essentially the same description as the Maxted one.
i dont have a record of whether an actual sale took place over that time although the number of "owners" did go up
It was being used for "regularity rallying" ............I wonder what happened to it? a BIG wreck that even with RS prices caused it to be written off??
