    2.8 twin plug engine & 915 gearbox

    G'day Folks,

I'm building a 73RSR Replica and am chasing a hot 2.8 and gearbox.
    Any information would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

      2.8 Engine

      Thanks Ryan,
Will follow up, but I would really like a complete engine at this stage.

Did you do Classic Adelaide last year?

yep, we had a great run at classic adelaide last year (came 8th in classic competition). we also got our gold plates at targa tas last year (15th in classic)

i can't wait for adelaide this year as i've not done much motorsport since. i've been taking a break (and doing some R+R on the RS replica).

          Classi Adelaide

          Don't do this.
It hurts and costs too much !

            bugger! was that you?

if yes, i think we may have met whilst putting decals on at scrutineering. we were in a dark blue/orange 2.7Rs replica and next to a white 930 (with some type of water spray on the intercooler?)

that's such a shame - i remember the white car as being very nice.

              white 930

              Ryan,

              It was me.
Car was a bit of a mess hence the conversion to RSR body
Not sure if you know but Silverstone Events are putting on a rally based out of Noosa next year.
Similar sort of roads to Adelaide in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

small world - once again, bugger.

so is the plan to fit a 2.8/915 into the 930 tub and backdate the bodywork?

                  RSR

                  That's the plan.
Probably need to talk from someone from CAMS to get a ruling on a few things.
For example the new regs say sprung suspension components are free. My reading of this would be that Aluminum Turbo trailing arms would be OK. What do you think?

what is the deal with the rally in QLD... sounds like fun!!
                    Closed roads?
The roads up there are not the best from our Indy Rally days, but the weather is great!!!!

i would concur, and if they're not sprung then they're probably semi-sprung (whatever that means??)

however, as i said, i'm batting one loss and one draw...
