    1969 911 E on Carsales

    Guys,

Has anyone seen this RS "replica" in real life? Do you think it is worth looking at a bit closer?

    Thanks in advance!

I'll be staying in Ashield (4 klms away from leichhartd) over the Rennsport weekend. I could try and met the vendor for you, check out the car, and take some closer images, record the engine sound. let me know.

        Wow!
Paul, I am humbled by your kind offer. Thank you. I joined the 901 Register because I had noticed the strength of the 901 community so I haven't been disappointed in my whole day of membership!

Unfortunately I'm about 8 weeks from having the cash to make a purchase so a PPI or a second opinion would be a little premature.

However is it common for such a vehicle to be for sale for so long due to the price being too high or simply due to it's specialist nature? (Or does everyone know it's full of rust/welded together from 44 gallon drums and wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole!)

        Thanks again!
        Peter

PS: Also, thanks Peter for the info on the length of its for sale status.

Hi Peter M, being located in Newcastle, are you coming down to rennsport next weekend ?

This is a perfect opportunity to meet many TYP901 members and talk about your impending purchase of an early 911.

let us know so we can look out for you over the weekend.

              Phil,
I hope to get there about midday and I will keep my eye out for you to say "hello". Would not be surprised if the owner of the 69 E has it in the show and shine.

              Richard,
I just can't imagine being as lucky as you!

I guess the secret to getting the car I want is taking my time, listening to advice and buying the best car I can afford to take advantage of the restoration work of others.

Worth noting that Cameron Arnott had his car for sale for a very long time and it didn't sell, but there was definitely nothing wrong with the car. It seems that the market has been asleep at the wheel for at least 18 months. There are definite signs things are changing though.

As it turns out I'm now not going due to work commitments. I'm Sydney for work and family monthly. I'm definitely there in June and again July. Might go and tyre kick anyway.

I think that a pretty specialised car that is going to have a limited market a bit like Cams car so length of time for sale should not bother you the ruslts of a PPI is what you need to know...welcome aboard too. Richard was one lucky guy
