    WTB Alloy Deck Lid

Hi I am looking for an alloy deck lid for my 1971 911S mine was lost when it went to the paint strippers. I am happy to pay up to $2500 subject to condition.
    Thanks

    Welcome Toby
If a repro is ok you have more options.

Pretty sure you will struggle to buy one at that price if person knows what they have.

Genuine, reasonable condition well over $3,000US these days.

        Hi Toby,

Welcome. I had heard there was a green Aus delivered 71S somewhere that needed a bit of love to get back on the road. Must be you I think!

Great to have another 71S on the register.

        Regards
        Nick

Dime a dozen these 2.2s cars. Seems like everyone's got one...

I don't mean to pour salt but how does one "lose" an aluminium decklid?

I have no idea, the previous owner took it in. I think it was probably damaged in the process although the stripper did replace it with a steel one which makes me suspicious as to what really occurred...

I'd say the stripping tech didn't realise it was alloy and it went into the wrong bath (caustic). It's very thin alloy and would have only required a minute or two in the wrong bath to be destroyed.

My dad is currently restoring an old Holden and had a similar issue with a parts restorer
"losing" one of the parts. It just so happened to be an unobtainium part on that model of car. Go figure...

                      Here you go

That is correct. This baby has never been on a car. Still in the original factory primer. Even has one of the original stickers on it. It is possible that this might be the only one of these left out there. It probably should be hanging in a museum somewhere. It has no flaws, those white spots are just where the primer has come off. I could have touched them up but decided it was best to keep it 100% as it came from the factory. I discovered it a while back in a Canadian barn, believe it or
