Yeah late 68 and 69 have the "3 bar grill" arrangement. All can be converted/modified to suit if you're not super anal about it. Toby, do you have the correct grill or are you just trying to get rid of a whale-tale/modification?
I can post photos of the differences if you need?John Forcier

I have the correct grill that needs restoring, it has been painted black. I just need a steel deck lid preferably from a sportomatic with the badge still in situ.Toby 0415 333 380

Julian, I'll send you some photos of the differences. Despite the various changes, it's clear all were pressed from the same dies and so minor metal work will make a "5 bar" look like a "3 Bar" and vice versa. They only become distinctly different in much later lids. Currently on the road to Roma Qld at the moment and won't be back to my computer until later in the week.John Forcier

I think I have one, a chap in Queensland has called me. He says he has a mint 69 lid with a gold sportomatic badge. I am just waiting for picturesToby 0415 333 380

I stand to be corrected, but I think the 69 "sportomatic" is plain silverJohn Forcier
