    1973 E Targa Aussie elivery

I viewed this car with the view to purchasing but wasn't able to complete a deal.

The owner has asked if I would put it here for sale he is even more computer illiterate than me if thats possible. Andrew is a long time member and has owned this car for 12 years.

Its an Australian delivery 5 speed, 1973 E with many S spec parts such as 85 litre tank, space saver and Webster compressor , S front spoiler and side trims, 6 x 15 fuchs.

Light yellow (117) in colour, black trim checking PCA to see if it was delivered with sports seats to match all the other S trim will advise when a result comes in, currently has comfort seats

According to Hugh its one of 8 such cars delivered that way.

I believe it is numbers matching in terms of engine (checking with PCA) and chassis, the numbers certainly match the original owners manuals that come with the car.

I drove it, feels strong, no issues with anything I could detect in a 20 minute drive gearbox fine, no synchro issues.

It is highly original, the only issue I can see in the body is it has had a hit on the rear left 1/4 panel I believe the rear guard has been changed but inner fender is undamaged so maybe not too bad. Worst part of the car is the paint in this area is terrible. Car appears to have been painted in parts if not all at some stage. Sills are original and there are no signs of the dreaded rust animal except maybe a touch at the top of the channel in the trunk area, ceratinly nothing major eveident anywhere if at all.

Panel gaps look fantastic everywhere on the car

The front area and trunk area are as you would expect from an unmolested 41 year old car its all in factory condition but has a bit of wear and tear. Missing the 2 front chrome over riders but can see where they had been.

There is some money to spend if you want to get it back into tip top shape needs new/repaired dash, new carpets, new hood and associated rubbers all round, and either what I believe would have been recaro sports seats or a modern day equivalent as the comfort seats are ordinary on drivers side.

Also needs the rear quarter area and some other parts at the back stripped back and repainted.

    If interested contact

    Andrew on 0418 298502 56298502 or jinksck@sympac.com.au

or you can contact me for my impressions.

    Price $112,000.00

There must have been a great infatuation with daisy yellow in the 70's...

I saw a 70 Targa this morning in a bronze colour that was originally yellow and going to go back that way.

Will watch with interest given the price that was being asked for the very nice black one in NZ(NZ delivery wrong color) it will be interesting to see if Clyde is correct and that this has been bought to onsell and at what price it will come back on the market detailed and prepped professionally. I think we will look back with envy.
