    1973T/E (MFI) LHD for sale

1973 2.4 T/E with MFI as dleivered new into USA in August 1972

One family owned car from new until early 2002

Never been registered fully in Australia so still shows as a 2 owner car.

Massive file of work done on the car motor must have been rebuilt at some stage but can't find evidence as it runs too well for a 42 year old motor!!

All factory handbooks books available with the car.

    Vin is 9113100342
    Engine 6130561
    Gearbox 7330687

All numbers visible and and hence this is a fully numbers matching car.

Its time for this great driving car to find a new home so I can build that ST motor and get that project finished.

The 2.4T/E has finally been re assembled thanks to Dave and Thomas at Classis Road and Track and all traces of external black trim have now been removed with re anodised or new pieces.

The re anodising went OK but previous sandblasting and corrosion of the alloy has left a few slightly less than perfect areas but boy what an improvement on what it was.

Check out all the work firstly done by Phil and then by me to get this car to where it is today

The Australian TYP 901 register is forum for enthusiasts who pay homage to this remarkable machine.

A few pics of the product as it is today to finish the story

A brief list of some of the things done.

    All new suspension bushes
Totally cleaned and all supsension repainted bolts re anodised etc etc etc
    New shocks
All chrome and anodised trim redone or replaced
    Many window rubbers replaced
Front and rear window trims replaced
New door pockets and correct 73 style door trims
    Perfect condition door pulls
    Original and perfect headlining
    New Porsche classic sunvisors
    New Tony Garcia carpet kit
New Tony Garcia sport seats in perforated leather
Reco original Becker Europa stereo with i pod connectivity
All green tint glass as per original
    Factory seat belt covers
Dash recovered by Just Dashes and no cracks
Near new Pirelli P 6000 tyres
6x15 Fuchs but not date matching
No rust anywhere to be found

    Car isn't perfect though

It used to be silver and still is in most places but currently sprayed in cream. All the engine bay, wheel arches and underneath are still as it left the factory so an easy repaint to return the car to complete silver again.

Has had a minor rear accident in the 80's in California all original metal in this area but not quite a 100% job on the repair. It has 2 new front guards but I have no idea why.

It leaks a bit of oil (from back of MFI pump I think down on to heat exchangers), starts first time every time, doesn't blow plumes of smoke runs strong and is a very easy car to drive being a T, but with the extra grunt of the 2.4 and MFI.

Sure I know its LHD but for what this car offers I doubt there will be a better one available at this price anytime soon.

Car will be sold with a roadworthy in Vic, unregistered for interstate.

    $59,950 OBO

Thanks Rich if the LHD doesn't cause a big issue I am sure it will work out fine

The way the dollar is going might be just as easy to send it home

I will leave it here for a couple of weeks and if no go will take it to Carsales.

Brilliant car Clyde at a great price. The LHD is a non-issue once people drive it. The feeling of difference wears off in about two days. After that it is just a 911.

                      Swap you for an 85 3.2 ?

Good luck with the sale, Clyde. I guess you've already thought about advertising it in the US at a higher price?

Now that's a Typ901 bargain! Good luck with the sale if it hasn't already changed hands.

It does seem like a great buy at that price. If I didn't already have a LHD 911T in the garage, I would be very interested.
Exporting back to the US could yield some good returns.
