2.0Litre early 911 engine with alum, case

I am considering selling the 2.0 litre aluminium case engine currently in my 911R tribute car as I have found a 3.2 engine and 915 to install in it.

The engine has an alloy case which are highly sought after for racing. Currently fitted with 40mm IDS 3C Webers and with headers and a S/S german muffler with 'limited' baffles, its a running engine which is started up now and then. Ignition system is std but I do have an MSD system for it.

Its possible to hear the engine running but not drive it too far (no reg on car)

    Pics are below.

    Engine No is: 911399
    Other marking 901/06

    Gearbox is a 901 5 spd..(no numbers available yet)

I prefer to keep them as a pair and have not established a price yet but wanted to see if there was interest from forum members before offering it elsewhere.

Pls PM me if you are seriously interested and understand what these early engines are worth.. Pls note I am not giving this away at a bargain price.

Asking $24,000 for motor and gearbox. Starter motor will be included on gearbox.

Sorry Merv, I only just came across the 3.2 motor and box yesterday and wasnt going to advertise until I had a replacement in hand.

You could have bought the whole car some time ago when it was advertised complete. Nobody wanted the car then so its sat in the garage under covers and on the battery charger.

I am thinking the whole car will be of more interest to buyers with a bigger motor and more go. the 2 litre was a bit underpowered for the look of the car.

Sorry if you are upset reading this ad.

That is a very nice car you have Phil. I like the idea of the bigger engine as well. I will log out of the forum until the car is sold so I don't get tempted at all. Oh I have 3 children now for sale.

                    Thanks

No problem at all Phil. It would have given me an option to consider when planning the re-building of my existing motor. Looks a great motor/box combination.

Phil, mate the 3.2 to the 901 box with a Kennedy Engineering pressure plate. Much lighter where you want it to be lighter and no mods to the tunnel. The 901 will definitely take the torque of the 3.2 so long as you don't dump it in first; common in the US and it's the set up I have. That combo will completely transform the car.
