    WTB carbs

    Hi all,

I am at the crossroads with a set of 40mm IDT Webers.
I don't want to burn money on a set of IDT's as they are not highly sort after. Even though they will be IDA spec when finished they will still be marked IDT.

Anyone got a set of overhauled or good condition 40mm IDA or PMO's for sale?
Preferably a full setup including linkages.

    0422 464 714

    Thanks

    Jim

      PM sent.

Also not ruling out a set of Jenvey ITB's if anyone has a set underneath their bed collecting dust. With or without ECU!!!

      Thanks

If I could get some 46mm PMOs my good IDAs would be for sale.

I have been professionally informed that a good setup for my engine would be 46mm throttle bores with 38mmm venturis .

I am picking up what you are putting down there Chris. Waiting to hear back from Matt.

          Thanks

Although I am not convinced 46mm or good for a street car. 2.6 litre

The advice I have been given is that 46mm is too much for sub 3.0 Litre engines and even marginal at 3.0.

Should have qualified, I was referring to PMO.

Yes I noticed those as well.
That's a lot of money for a set of carbs. I suppose the serious "back to original" folks are in a bit of trouble. Shame really.

I would love nothing more than to put my car back to showroom condition. I would not even want to know what that would cost.

Chris is right about the 46er's.

They're great for a 3 - 3.2 spending most of it's time on a track with WOT, but you sacrifice torque and drivability for normal / spirited driving.

                            Cheers

Jim, if you do not have a local expert, you might like to talk to Peter Catalano at Thornbury Carburettor Service, as he may be able to help you. They are Weber importers and repairers. He rebuilt my (road 2.2)webers in 2002 and they have not been touched since and are still smooth. Phone no is 03 9489 2108
