Lotsa luck Ben. These are not easy to find and you may end up having to source ex USA. Wont be cheap.

They do pop up from time to time... I moved a set of 15 deep sixes to a member here who needed them more than me recently. But the prices are soaring to the almost ridiculous unless you have a particularly special car (I know they're all special).

I'm going to have a go at cleaning up a ratty set of 14" fuchs I have for road wheels on the 68 (I have proper 15" minilites and R spec rubber for track). The other plus is that there is still quite a good variety of tire choices in 14". The 14" fuchs are still pretty reasonably priced when they pop up (normally less than $1k for a set).

Have you considered quality reproductions as an alternative?

          Hi John,

My car has the 5 factory stamped steelies, so I was going for Fuchs for a different look and was thinking of deep sixes and 205's to fill the guards a little.

Had researched the Group4 replica's, but landed they're about $4k Aussie and getting more expensive every day!

I hadn't considered 14's as was after 'deeps'.

          Ben.

Ben, you also need to understand how hard it is to fit tires to deep 6 rims cause if you use someone without good quality tire change machines and lack of knowledge, they can do a lot of damage. Plus if you want to fit 205 width tires, this adds to the headaches.

              Just a heads-up.

                Thanks Craig and Phil.

Very much appreciate all the advice.

A lot to be said for the factory steel wheels by the sounds of it!

If you're considering repro's, the Flat 4 ones aren't bad for the money:

Cam, I like the look of those repros. is that the best way to contact the seller, through that Samba ad?

                          Thanks Cam.

                          I also found these, that come in raw or polished;

And for nearly half the price, these ones which come in anodised or polished

The SM wheels look like replica flat 6s.

Keep in mind that most replica wheels are cast not forged so are generally not as strong or light as originals but they are new as opposed to 40+ years old.

A few years ago I sourced individual wheels (deep 6s) in the US through early S reg and had them shipped direct to Harvey. Luckily none were cracked or bent and with the $ around parity and paying an average of US$350 for the cores the wheels still ended close to $1K each by the time they arrived with restoration, shipping, GST etc. It took about 12 months all up but I did tell Harvey I wasn't in a hurry and took my time finding affordable cores. The wheels look awesome though:p

Wow those group 4 wheels would cost more than $4K landed in my estimate.
