    WTB: Sporto Gearbox

Bit of detective work involved (ie I emailed Hugh , and Harry confirmed it)... but am looking for the original sporto gearbox for my car number 7200171.

Not going back in the car, but would be nice to just have it...

Anyone have any leads, let me know!

    Cheers

Pretty much guarantee that having the original sporto for you car will not increase the value, Rich... but good luck on your search!

I remember helping a Sydney Porsche independent repairer move workshops in my university days.

If memory serves me correctly we threw 10 in the skip .... there wasn't a market for them and they had come out of cars getting manuals transplanted in.

Maybe, but... was I glad that I had my original motor and sporto when Luke's car popped up on Unique Cars.....

I know its probably a bit of a different story for Richard since, presumably, his car is Kosher and he is probably just looking to protect or maximise his investment.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

What kind of a crazy world would it be if sportos were actually worth more than all of the ubiquitous 5 speeds?

If they have matching numbers ...

We seem to need two cars - one to drive, thrash and enjoy, and one to appreciate in value based on originality. Sometimes it can be the same car, but not often.
