    f/s 2.4 Kjet CIS

I have a 2.4L kJET CIS complete engine
was running when removed however blowing smoke so would recommend a freshen up , engine number relates to a 1973 , will not match any of your vehicles as we still have the original car it was removed from
    located in Bayswater Melbourne
price open to fair offers as not sure what its worth so happy to receive advice via PM on what would be a fair price

    thanks you

    Joe

Hi Joe. Welcome to the forum! Just curious...given the premium that matching numbers cars are fetching at the moment why are you parting it out? I would have thought that keeping it tucked under the bench would be like money in the bank?

      Hi Joe
      Welcome to the forum.
If you (or the potential purchaser) want to discard the CIS set up I am interested. I know this seems the wrong way around ie most normally remove.
      Kind regards

Thank you for the welcome gents

Mark i thought that too however after discussing with a few people i was told it would not make a difference to the value of the car as it is not in origal spec ,
the car is a 1973 911 us import converted to RHD biult into a 2.7rs copy , it is currently running a 3.0

Tom i will keep that in mind

Chris I would not even know what price to start at

thank you for the advice in advance

I would say regardless of the condition of the car. Do not sell the engine. If you need money keep the case and flog the rest.
Numbers mean a lot to some people.

Could be a big regret, if you let that engine go. Very much against the trend, people spend a life time searching for their original engine.

I too run a 3 litre, but I tell you what, the original engine sits on a pellet in the garage, it would never be for sale!

You have yours, the engine may not be in your plans now, but given time who knows what you may do with that car. You may wish to go original, and will be missing your greatest asset. Once sold it will never return.

                And welcome too!

The engine is not worth much on its own but sure is more valuable with the car

thank you Gents for the important info

I will keep the engine as per your feedback

Just out of interest what are these engines worth?

                    Regards

Even insurance companies... I also run a 3.0 in my car, with the original engine in the garage, and my insurer has stated they will value the car $15k higher if the original engine was in place.

As Clyde mentioned, if the engine is matched to its original VIN / car...a lot.

                              Wow, that's a good offer.(around 10k).
Running and blowing smoke, this motor in my mind would of been classified as a core.
I guess if you got to have it you pay.
