    1970 911E For Sale

I've decided to move this on as I have a full case of restoration fatigue and there are a couple of things around I might want to buy

Originally UK delivery in bahia red with black interior, sunroof, power windows and tinted windows.
    Current SA rego
Delivered with export plates so suspect not too long in the UK.
Non matching 3.2 ROW (231hp) engine and 915 box. Supposedly out of a low mileage Hong Kong car. Starts first time, pulls hard, makes no nasty noises and doesn’t blow smoke. Had the Mark Poole nod of approval.
Car has BF Torino sport seat replicas with houndstooth.
Vintage Momo Jacky Ickx 350mm wheel.

    Issues
Small rust patch on the roof, otherwise solid. A little bit of minor surface rust starting to show in passenger door bottoms (inside of door bottom looks fine) and small rust mark on paint at base of passenger side windscreen but no bubbling. Passenger sill has small visible hole. Was pronounced pretty dry underneath by Mark Poole with sound engine & trans prior to the car coming to Darwin.
Some bright spark has drilled a hole through part of the VIN. Thankfully it’s through the ‘11’ part of the VIN. Obviously the LWB cars all started with 911 as the first 3 numbers of the VIN so its obvious what it is being an act of stupidity rather than anyone trying to do a VIN swap. All other VIN numbers clear and legible

It had a full brake bleed, new outer spring plate bushes, new oil tank S hose, and the engine had a full major service (MP) before coming to Darwin with maybe 400km’s since.
Car has had a full going over by auto electrician at a cost of $3700. Everything works as it should, fuse boxes removed and bead blasted to remove corrosion before reinstalling, any hacks sorted back to factory.

The parts I have to go with the car are:

    • New Koni rear shocks and Koni front struts (painted) without inserts.
    • Fully refurbed S calipers by PMB Performance
    • 6 x 15 deep six Fuchs x 4 in polished finish.
    • Good black vinyl rear seats
    • Re-trimmed door panels, rear shelf, interior ¼ window trims, door pockets with mounting hardware and new silver trim in box, both interior arm rests / door pulls, knee pads, ashtray, door tops.
    • Repair piece for ashtray mount & ashtray clip
    • 2 x new front guards
    • Long hood with catch mechanism
    • 70 / 71 911E slam panel VIN plate
    • Excellent early engine grill
    • 2 x secondhand rear quarters Have had orig. flare sections removed and re-welded at some point.
    • Front bumper with over riders (no trim)
    • New front indicator housings and new silver trim lenses
    • Rear bumpers with over riders & centre panel, new bumper trim and reflectors
    • Re anodized door strikers
    • New Porsche Durant mirror
    • S/hand Gold PORSCHE decklid script & 911E Badge + glove box badge
    • New alloy dash trim with new basket weave
    • New early style electric window switches
    • New engine sound pad by Eric Linden ($450US)
    • Nth Hollywood Speedo refurbed oil level / fuel gauge
    • 2 x new battery straps
    • New washer bottle, pump cap etc
    • Elephant Racing front control arm bushes, camber plate bushes and Turbo tie rods

    Asking $65,000 O.N.O

Other items for separate sale include:

    • 1 partially stripped 6 x 15 deep six
    • New 26mm rear torsion bars
    • Orange bar hood badge with small section of enamel missing
    • Behr under dash a/c unit, Carrerra 3.2 compressor mount and engine pulley
    • 911 2.2 E sporto engine case 4 numbers from matching
    • 911 2.2 manual transmission case 911/01
    • ’69 dated rear seat belts
    • Front aftermarket retractable seat belts (Klippan)

OK so here's a few more photos showing the uglies. I'm guessing it will need new sills and some lower windscreen repair as well as the spot on the roof.

I also have all of the HVAC equipment from the front trunk - it was removed to allow the Auto Electrician better access..

The photo above of the door frame shows that the frames weren't scuffed to paint and should be able to be taken back to anodise without too much hassle.

The original delivery booklet is attached. I had contacted one of the gurus from DDK who confirmed the cars original numbers and specs. This was posted on another thread but I'll re-post here when I can find it.

Depending on the sort of deal struck I might be prepared to load up the ute and car trailer and travel circa 1500 km's to meet a buyer......

Happy to talk with serious buyers and take more pics if required. Not one for the concourse crowd but a solid base to build a great hot rod 911, and comes with the majority of parts to turn back into a long hood.

I should add the the QLD Modification plate in the front trunk was for some aftermarket seats that were in the car when the previous owner purchased it. I guess it would cover the BF Torinos but probably not really necessary!

Great way to get into 901 ownership, able to be driven whilst planning its return to originality.
Being a UK car, money spent will be easily recouped as others here have found.
            Original RHD
Good luck with the sale Cam.

Well I actually did a trade + some cash my way and have picked up another splitty ;-)

I'll update the resto thread as well.

And I have my eye on another P car but not 100% sure at this stage. The sensible thing would be to retire some debt but I'm not know for my sensible habits...
