I've decided to move this on as I have a full case of restoration fatigue and there are a couple of things around I might want to buy
Originally UK delivery in bahia red with black interior, sunroof, power windows and tinted windows.
Current SA rego
Delivered with export plates so suspect not too long in the UK.
Non matching 3.2 ROW (231hp) engine and 915 box. Supposedly out of a low mileage Hong Kong car. Starts first time, pulls hard, makes no nasty noises and doesn’t blow smoke. Had the Mark Poole nod of approval.
Car has BF Torino sport seat replicas with houndstooth.
Vintage Momo Jacky Ickx 350mm wheel.
Issues
Small rust patch on the roof, otherwise solid. A little bit of minor surface rust starting to show in passenger door bottoms (inside of door bottom looks fine) and small rust mark on paint at base of passenger side windscreen but no bubbling. Passenger sill has small visible hole. Was pronounced pretty dry underneath by Mark Poole with sound engine & trans prior to the car coming to Darwin.
Some bright spark has drilled a hole through part of the VIN. Thankfully it’s through the ‘11’ part of the VIN. Obviously the LWB cars all started with 911 as the first 3 numbers of the VIN so its obvious what it is being an act of stupidity rather than anyone trying to do a VIN swap. All other VIN numbers clear and legible
It had a full brake bleed, new outer spring plate bushes, new oil tank S hose, and the engine had a full major service (MP) before coming to Darwin with maybe 400km’s since.
Car has had a full going over by auto electrician at a cost of $3700. Everything works as it should, fuse boxes removed and bead blasted to remove corrosion before reinstalling, any hacks sorted back to factory.
The parts I have to go with the car are:
• New Koni rear shocks and Koni front struts (painted) without inserts.
• Fully refurbed S calipers by PMB Performance
• 6 x 15 deep six Fuchs x 4 in polished finish.
• Good black vinyl rear seats
