The car was originally imported from California and before me had only had
one other owner and had sat in a garage for 20 years. Therefore has done
relatively low mileage.
Since I bought it I have re painted it. I have renewed the front seats, but
have kept the original ones.
The engine has been completely re built with new parts from the US.
I installed a later 916 5 speed gear box with oil cooler.
Because of this change of gear box it became necessary to install a new
electronic speedometer which shows approximately 14,000 kms....the mileage
since the engine/gearbox overhaul.
I fitted an anti theft alarm and keyless door opening as well as a new radio
and CD player.
There are new shock absorbers all round and the suspension has been modified with extra torsion bars.
The original speedometer is also with the car as well as 4 tyres and rims
and many other spares.
The car is in outstanding original condition, performs well and is a joy to
drive. I certainly wouldn't be selling it if I still lived in Australia.
