    Project Creep

We’ve all experienced it….. I was recently looking for a grille to fit a ducktail some friends in Sydney had given me.

Well the grille morphed into a 3.0 Turbo style whale tail and I must say I’m delighted.

Thanks again Sean…. Tail was brilliantly packed.

Looks tough like a Carrera could have been optioned from new. Is it fibreglass or steel and rubber like the factory option for an SC ? I found that because my 79SC that had not been ordered from the factory with the rear rubber spoiler that was a factory option the car was built with just a single strut mount fitted and long term with 2 gas struts fitted to the passenger side strut mount the weight of the rubber on a steel deck lid caused the engine lid to lose rigidity and it seriously flexed when being opened and closed. I must admit though my car had done 300,000 kms and had had the tail fitted for close to 40 years. Nev

yes the flat lid stayed up and I think the struts were replaced too at the last service.

The whale tail is heavier than the rubber one and I will need to carry my piece of dowell with rubber caps on both ends - the engine cover wont stay up for long, if at all.

Favourite tail on a 911 ever

These Rennline struts are excellent, Pocketscience and I have just fitted them to our long hoods
