76 Aus delivered price check please

Posting for a mate of mine.
He has a chance to buy a 76 RHD Aus delivered car.

No idea of condition or price.

Can anyone who is in the know regarding IB's can you let me know.

To have an uneducated guess I would say

    5/10 car would be $15k
    7/10 car would be $25k
    10/10 car would be $50k

No idea of body style or colour as of yet.

Any help would be appreciated. Looking at car tomorrow.

Also would that be the notorious 2.7 litre?
Head studs are an issue. Any thing else on the expensive bad list.

At those guess prices I would be guessing too that you are pricing a Targa/Cab conversion.

      Haha.
Yes things have moved on considerably from there.

Measuring stick might be the yellow coupe that set a new bench mark when it sold at Shannons for $72K, everyone gasped!
Now that is on the market for $130K.

        So
        2/10 car would be $10k
        5/10 car would be $30k
        7/10 car would be $70k
        10/10 car would be $110k

        Is that better? ha ha

          Chris,

Was that yellow one an 'S' ?
If it was the one I was thinking about it looked like a nice car!!!

Remember that with IB cars S is not really a significant letter.
I reckon your second set of values look good.

                Is it a 1976 911S, 27mfi, 3.0Carrera or 3.0 Turbo?

Oh ... no such thing as an Aussie 2.7mfi in '76 right?

This '76 911 came up on Carsales at $65k over the weekend and was promptly sold.

Yeah saw that, standard 911, with colour change and rear flares etc. added.
Looks like a nice car, but that would give you some idea of what a matching numbers unmolested car might get.

All we know is it is a 76. More info when I get it.
It's a mates purchase so I am only 90% excited.

You could still get the 83/911 (2.7RS MFI) engine in the 76 Carrera - it was the last year they were available.

The 2.7S was a plain vanilla 2.7CIS engine.

Yes there were some, but not many, of the 76 2.7MFI Carreras that made it here.

My understanding is that there was no Aussie (or ROW) 'S' in '76, only in the good old USA, and yup, plain old CIS.
