Anyone imported a car from New Zealand?

i have spotted a 71t for sale in NZ which could help with the completion of the current project and form a good base for my next idea and wondering if anyone can share any experience, cost and logistics of bringing a car Over the ditch

my 2.4 came from NZ more than 10 years ago.
i think the same rules apply now in that you need to purchase the car first and then get DOTARS approval.
duty and GST I'm not sure of but you can be certain you will get stung for quarantine cleaning on entry like the engine...
it was a hassle free exercise.

      Hi Ash
I didn't import from NZ but I recently imported from then UK. Below are the charges. It still makes me laugh when I see that I had to pay LCT on a 68, nothing luxurious about a 68.
I used Personal Import to arrange transport, I highly recommend Domenic (<a href="tel:0412880925">0412880925</a>).

About $2500 for shipping through Mainfreight (on a RO-RO ship, so it wasn't containerised), 10% GST (payable on total cost of car, shipping and insurance), plus around $200 AQIS fee, and $150 for Customs brokerage. It adds up...

Thanks for sharing. Having shipped a few cars from the US I've been curious as to the freight costs from the UK, and they don't look to be much more than from the US. That LCT is a killer!
