    "Volvo" in the family

Don't laugh, but my 18 year old son Robert has just purchased and taken delivery of the car of his dreams - a black 1996 Volvo 850SE 2.5 Estate.............and you can't wipe the smile from his face.

Beautiful condition, low kms, full service history, 2 owner, leather interior......and it fits nicely into the parking bay at the local bowls club.

Also, can be hired for funerals.

Hmmmm..... car of his dreams??!! Have you searched his room for illegal substances?

A Volvo :0 At least its black! No lying in bed worrying about his safety for you then Peter?!

Is that the T5. They do have a cool exhaust note I reckon. Heated seats too if I recall or was that just on the European cars?

needs a set of deep 6's, and set of Phil's seats and it will be better!

They are a good car - for P plater!

Lets just hope the electricals and mechanicals hold together for him, as to fix those things can be a little $$$$. I am sure that Peter has done his due dilligence on the car for his son, as he did with KYJ and every other car they cannot seem to part with!!!

Peter, we are expecting you to add "My son drives a Volvo" to your online signature!!!

Rich, of course not, he's only 18. :p
..........although that rego is certainly better suited to a Volvo rather than a Porsche.

...and didn't Robert kick all our arses on the go kart track at Phillip Island last year?

Only problem with the car is there is no back parcel shelf to leave the bowls hat on.

Beat me to it Brett. I was going to say Peter will need to donate one of his hats to his son so he looks like a real Volvo driver.

At least he's safe. My son drives a Suby wagon. All wheel drive, ABS and no turbo and reasonably fuel efficient. But sounds like Peter's son's car was cheaper.

Disaster has struck - broke the cam belt last week - no compression in 3 cylinders - bent valves. Off to a Volvo specialist next week on a flat bed. I just happened to be driving it at the time, so guess who has to pay for the repairs ..................currently he's off snowboarding at Mt Buller........ah, to be young again:p
