We went to the Ferrari museum in Maranello and got some pics of the new Californian hard top convertible, plus many others. I saw that it has been featured in today's weekend papers, a day after we got back although these shots are about a month old. Here are some. It was disappointing that there were no (racing) sports cars on show. It was all F1 and mostly recent models. Very interesting nevertheless. Also went to Goodwood where there was a fabulous 60s Porsche Garage and car showrooom. I'll post them later, still recovering from doing 3500km in a 1200cc Fiat Punto Grande (Grunto Piccolo) round Italy etc,

great pics...not having had the pleasure to visit the ferrari Museum as yet...do they have more interactive/immersive display environments in which either the colleciton items and associated material/ephemera are displayed? Or in the main is it predominantly static - cars on floors with largisg mural graphics to the rear??
The Motor Museum in Bathurst is a typical example of a Museum environment which sorely needs to lift/broaden/engage with its approach to the display and interpretation of Australian Racing History. In particular if it wants to (credibly) where the tag "National".

Glad you enjoyed them, gents.
Michel, the main attraction interactively was a F1 simulator in a real (I think) recent F1 car. Long q, many euros, I did not try it. They have website but it seems it is a bit out of date as it refers a lot to 2007. The wall of shells and engines showing the development of F1 design was spectacular.
If you intend to go, make sure you have a good map of Maranello as it was hard for us to find it. Maybe we missed a sign. Google maps was a great source of infor at this level of detail.
