I thought the troops might enjoy this pic of "Jack" saying how great I was in the 1976 Australian Open and that the trophy should really have been mine

WOW - that is some hair Clyde!

Brilliant! I don't think that doo would fit in an early 911. Unless you had a sunroof!

Funny story, 3rd round waiting to hit off on the first tee in front of a major crowd absolutley ****ting myself, in second last group of the day tied for 3rd at this stage who should wander up and look at my ****ty old driver none other than the great man, brand of my driver, Slazenger Jack Nicklaus of course.

He takes it from me, has a waggle and gives it back then says something like "better get a better driver son if you want to go anywhere"

Didn't know if he was serious or joking.

I carved my first tee shot into the crap on the right....... got rid of it a week later.

About 4 months later paired with Johnny Miller (US and British Open Champion ) and Greg Norman at the Victorian Open in 1977 was in pro shop talking to the club pro (my home club at the time) before the round, ****ting myself again, unwrapped my 4 new golf balls from the boxes and tissue paper they used to come in and headed for the first tee........when I got there had to go back, had thrown the golf balls in the bin still had the boxes in my hand!!! Guys in pro shop were rolling on floor laughing when I got back there.

Fortunately that week ended well also.......see if I can find a simarly funny photo as I don't think I had a haircut from the Aust Open the previous November!!!!.

Shane, B Ogle was a good player, nice victory, he came onto the amateur scene as I was departing, how was trip????
