    Early Seiko dive watches

I have had an interest in early Seiko dive watches for a while, and it has gotten to the point now where I have some tools and enough knowledge to get into trouble. So I have been refurbing some for friends using the cheap o'rings, crystals, dials, hands, bezel inserts etc. that are available on the net. If anyone has anything lying around that could use a rebuild drop me a line, its not meant to be an earner, I just enjoy tinkering.

Got one for my 18th birthday back in 1974...its too heavy to wear on my old arm now so now I wear my dads 50 year old Omega (its never been to a jeweller in its life) and a new ceramic rado I bought in Switzerland recently.

Cam your watch arrived today, very nice, but looking at the detritis under that bezel its no wonder it wasn't rotating. I'll have it on its way back to you next week
I also took delivery of a Seiko Bell matic from another member these are a really neat peice of work but there are a lot of things to go wrong.
Phil, yours hasn't landed as yet.

                    Chris,

I havent sent mine over yet. I will be in Adelaide in about a weeks time and will carry it with me and hopefully we can meet one evening. I also have a Seiko bellmatic which works OK, only missing a strap. These seem to be collectable these days.

No problem Phil give me a heads up when you know your plans. Bellmatics are becoming collectable in an affordable way and there are some really nice ones, nothing like a beautiful 1970s watch to match the period car.

It was great to meet you Phil and review some of the watches you own, or have owned, probably holding your Panerai was as close as I will get to one
Have opened your watch and the battery had started to leak, but little damage done and I have ordered the crystal and gaskets to get it back to A1 condition. Will send you some photos of the Seiko bands to see if you want to replace that.
