Top Gear episode Mon 12 May

Did anyone else see Top gear last night ?

I am now torn between wanting to buy one of those new little Alfas, or a Maclarin P1.

That Maclaren even impressed Clarkson and I could not believe the speeds it achieved and how fast it got there.

The price is a bit of a worry though - GBP 860,000 or thereabouts . But at over 900 HP thats less than 1000 Pounds per HP. bargain !

Wonder if we will ever see the little Alfa out here and what price it will be. They said GBP 45,000 in the UK.

Interesting how Hammond said this is teh way cars will need to go, lighter, more nimble and fuel efficient.

Well I know my early 911 ticks at least 2 of these boxes so have we gone full circle back to lightwegith sports cars ?

Hammond said he is testing the 918 Porsche Hybrid in a few weeks and Stig will drive the P1 and 918 . That will be an interesting match up.

I cant imagine rallying in those seats ! In drastic need of some BF Torinos I think. But well spotted anyway.

Whilst the Maclaren would be nice, I think the Alfa will be more affordable but will they build RHD models ? Looks like the UK has been excluded as a market initially so maybe only LHD.

        Hi Phil,

Yes, the Alfa 4C is on its way to Australia (priced at around $100k) and will be here shortly I believe.

        Cheers,

        Harry.

          $100K ? Ouch !

Better to save a bit (lot) longer for the Maclaren then.
