Vintage Watch Repairs (and Shops) in Melbourne

Hi all,

I have a Porsche Design Orfina watch that I purchased 20 years ago that needs a new band and service.

Since moving to Melbourne I've not been able to find any decent places that rival my old haunt in Sydney which was Sydney Vintage Watches in the Strand Arcade.

Now I know old Porsche enthusiasts are also vintage watch enthusiasts in most cases .... so where do I go for my old watch fix in Melbourne now Melbourne 901'ers?

Try Chris at The Watch Gallery in Lt Collins st just off Elizabeth st.

Although he is up in HK this weekend at a watch fair trading watches. He has a website and repairs and trades in classic watches. Also another shop in High St Armadale but cant remember their name.

I got an early 1960's Breitling serviced at Watchtime, Block Arcade. Happy with the service.

Justin, I just got my PD orfina serviced. There is no one in Melbourne that will do a proper job. Trust me, I looked. The lemania 5100 movement in these watches is very complicated and hard to get done right. The best guy in Aust for these is Paul Heath in Sydney...he is the lemania 5100 guru. Sent the watch to Richard in the end stew.

He's got and serviced it and will give it a clean up so that it looks the business but shows that its lived a full life. It turns out it had never been apart.

I've not received the watch back yet but I'm impressed so far.

Now I just need to find myself an orfina chronometer... I've got a non chrono and love it, but I feel the need for another watch!
