Hi All,
As a number of you are aware, I have re-entered the 911 owners ring, but this time with a G Series.
I have been searching for some time now for the right car and finally found it in one of the 901-ers garages! It had been in Sean's possession since November 2011 when he persisted in pursuing the previous owner who initially didn't want to sell and talked him into it. Then history repeated itself and I did the same to Sean! Thanks Sean!
It is a 1975 Aussie delivered, matching numbers, sportomatic Targa in my favourite 70s colour 'Lime Green' with books. I am one of the minority who love the Targa (though some have been recently calling Targas called the new black [along with Tartan])!!
It is a genuine honest low mileage example, having just clocked over 100,000 kms to be at 00,153 kms.
It has been in dry storage for approx 14years; unfortunately for some of that time pre-Sean's ownership the battery remained insitu and rusted out the battery tray area. Other than that it has a couple of surface rust marks near the Targa hoop but overall is in great original condition (and still has its original paint).
The first photo is how Sean bought it with 6 & 7" Fuchs (first photo) which he removed and replaced with Cookie Cutters (second photo).
Plans:
1. Repair rust area (currently being done at Chequered Flag)
2. Replace Cookie Cutters with 15x6" Flat Fuchs (purchased a polished set from Adam; to be anodised and detailed)
3. Install correct side wing mirror (purchased early G series mirror today)
4. Needed a Webster Compressor for the space saver (purchased today)
5. Purchase new 'smile' and put back together
6. Install set of period Recaros (with Blackwatch Tartan inserts) also already purchased- tombstones have rips in them
7. Mechanical freshen up
8. Detail
8. Away!
I will undertake a resto at some stage but am more interested in having a car to enjoy sooner rather than later!
Cheers
