    drones

not quite sure if these things are a scourge or what but any way we had one causing us some issues at the harbor entrance the other day- getting in the way of our helicopter transfers, my boss the harbor master managed to get in touch with the fellow operating said drone who was very apologetic but just an avid ship spotter and supplied us with a link to his smugmug account, pretty bloody impressive photos, if you like ships ...

    Awsome pics.

I recently saw this thing. And now want it... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vGc...&feature=share

In relation to drones, I think they're here to stay... The noise can be a little annoying, but most can't stay up for too long. That will change though; they'll get smaller and smaller and quieter and quieter And as for privacy, well if you're that worried - you were born in the wrong era

Yep. If you fly them over hostile airspace, beware of the bogies

Rod Scheeren (autofocus 911) had one at the PCNSW concours a few years ago.... held in the Sydney Olympic Park precinct.

          A unique perspective - that's for sure.

They had a big one doing shots for Aussie Rennsport1 in 2013 at SMSP - very impressive. I'm sure I wasn't the only guy thinking about how catastrophic it would be to have it fall on the $5m plus parc firm

They used one in Shanghai to film an amazing iMax rotating theatre rendition of the city. Quite impressive. Missiles ready ...

My brother recently purchased a small one for his work (film maker) that supports a GoPro. Impressive bit of kit for a not ridiculous price tag (around $1000). Have been promised some Porsche action shots when he's next in town

Lily cameras not available until Feb 2016. Their preorder deal ran out end of June and price will progressively move up to RRP of US$ 999.00

MK II version is supposedly coming. Not sure how it performs in strong winds and it has no collision avoidance built in so dont go skiing thru the trees.

                    Pretty neat technology though.
