    Sydney Lunch - July 1 - Bilpin

    All,

We have been invited to the PCNSW’s Classic 911 run next Sunday July 1st. This has been arranged by John Shingleton. See email text below.

Details are below… its highly informal, you make your own way up there and book at the restaurant… be sure to follow the instructions:

I’d like to invite Register members and their partners to the Classic 911 Register Winter lunch on Sunday 1st July at the Applebar Restaurant 2488 Bells Line of Road ,Bilpin .
This is a pleasant medium price restaurant conveniently located on a great driving road a reasonable driving distance from Sydney . It has its own car park beside the restaurant .It also has an as yet unfinished website at www.applebar.com.au . I have also included the review from Sydney Cheap Eats -below .
To make for flexibility and to encourage as many members and their partners as possible to attend the plan is as follows .
    • If you wish to attend make your personal reservation directly with the restaurant on 0245670335 for 1.00 pm. Mention that you are part of the Porsche Club group . They are expecting us but obviously I cannot give them numbers . They will take as many of us as possible but book early to avoid disappointment .
    • There will be no meeting and group drive to the venue as this is not a club social drive .So drive directly to the Applebar on the Sunday morning in your Porsche and aim to be there 12.00/12.30 so that we can have a prelunch drink and look at cars .
Hopefully it will be a fine day but remember it’s always cold in the Blue Mountains in winter so dress accordingly even if it is a warm day in town .
Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday 1st
    John

There are more and more reasons to visit this less-travelled side of the mountains and Apple Bar is one of them. Every day the blackboard features five to 15 interesting specials; anything might be on the board, but everything is good. Start with a hearty soup or steamed mussels followed by a thin-crust woodfired pizza there's always a pizza special such as shredded zucchini with smoked provolone dolce, bocconcini and Napoli sauce $19.50. You might also find wood-grilledkangaroo fillet $24 with ratatouille and aioli or Indonesian-style spring rolls $16 filled with sweet banana prawns, scallops, glass noodles and pork. Warmed in winter by the woodfire oven and with a good outdoor area that's perfect for summer, this local gem is sure to please.

    Suburb: Bilpin (Blue Mountains)
    Cuisine: pizza
