Sunday lunch and drive Aug 26th - Melb members

Hi Melbourne members,

I have asked Darren Sharp to organise a luncheon run down Geelong way and he has responded with a good (long) run via Apollo Bay and some nice back roads, culminating in lunch at Pettavel ([FONT='Calibri','sans-serif']http://www.pettavel.com/p_rest/rest.html).

Darrens route map is fairly long but takes in some great roads. I have suggested those keen for the drive, will leave early (probably Shell Westgate -Geelong bound) and those with limited time or family committments, could just meet at the restaurant .

How does this date sound to everyone and pls indiucate your interest as we have to book the restaurant in advance as its very popular.

Its been suggested that we might consider a lower priced venue for lunch as Pettavel is reasonably $$$y.

One suggestion was we do the run in reverse and stop at the Lorne Pub where the meals are excellent and its family freindly.

How many members were planning to bring kids along ?

My (and Julie's) preference is also for lunch at Lorne - not only is it much cheaper but lunch at the seaside on the GOR retains the coastal flavour of the day. Looking forward to it.

Guys,

looks like we can have a couple of different runs. One starting early (say 0800) at teh Shell wetsgate and heading down to Apollo Bay via Winchelsea and the Otways, then heading back to Lorne for lunch at the pub then home.

Others who just want a family outing could meet later at Shell (say 1000 hrs) then head down to Lorne directly (via GOR or back way) then head back home via Tourquay after we all meet up.

I realise the date clashes with the PCV Track day at Sandown but I think some are wanting another drive soon.
