    TYP901 track day opportunities

    Hi All,

All current financial TYP901 members that have a CAMS Level 2S licence can now participate in the Victorian based track days conducted by the MSCA. Please see more information about the MSCA below.

If there are enough 901'ers at an event, Bruce (the President of the MSCA) is happy to create a 901 only run group.

The Calendar for 2017 is below, note that there are 4 remaining for this year:

    The MSCA
The Marque Sports Car Association of Victoria consists of member clubs and was created to address the problem of individual clubs lacking the resources to conduct motor sport activities.

Regular track days (called Super Sprints) are conducted under Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS). T
hese Super Sprints are conducted at Sandown, Philip Island and Winton. In addition to Super Sprints, the MSCA usually conducts one Hill Climb event per year.
MSCA and member clubs are affiliated with the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS).

The MSCA prides itself on running efficient competitor-focused events that are safe, inclusive and fun, all for a competitive price. If you have been thinking about giving sprinting a go the MSCA is the ideal place to start. To complete at an MSCA event you only need to be a member of a CAMS affiliated club and hold a Level 2 Speed or Junior level 2 Speed license.

The MSCA also hold 2 x Come and Try days throughout the year at both Sandown and Phillip Island. These are perfect for those who have never been on the track before and want to give it a go.

I'd be interested Alex - with a typ 901 group. Particularly PI.

There aren't too many crazies I need to avoid are there?

Just to update this post. I went to Winton last Sunday to do the MSCA sprint day with the Imp. It was a terrific day, very well organised & very professional in all respects. Highly recommended!

Great to hear Mark. Saw that you posted on their Facebook page. Need to get some more people out there from the 901 crew!

Thanks. I would also be interested to attend with the 901 group. I'm surprised there aren't more takers.... is it just the two of us or a peeps waiting until the event is closer?

Thanks Alex. I am interested too. The MSCA website isn't working for me - when is the next 'come and try' or are there enough of us to create a run group?

              Cheers

MCSA website seems to working fine now - there is a Phillip Island Super Sprint day coming up on 23rd September, and a Sprint day at Sandown on 21st October too. I was hoping to go to PI, but won't be able to make it now... I can only reiterate what a great day these are! Highly recommended.

Is there anyone else attending? Or, am I the only one that's going to be flying the 901 flag?
                      Can't wait!

                          Roland,

You'll be solo by the looks of it....

I wont be doing anything track related until the new year I suspect....

                          Enjoy .

                            A stunning day.
Extremely well organised and safe. Highly recommend everyone give P.I. a crack. Surprised at the speeds that you can take it to (safely).
The drift at the end of the main straight was more terrifying than telling the misses I was going racing for the day.
Good fun. Thanks you Alex Webster.
