I'm keen in principle, but I'll just check the extent of the oil leak that seemed to start on my last Nebo drive. My 912 did not seem to enjoy Nebo on a 35degC day

Hi Steve, where is your oil leaking? Should be around high 20’s at the most in the hills on Sunday, even less in the morning.... see how you get on,
        cheers.... Tarz

Dont know where leak is yet - busy etc. Will need to have a good look. Bit of a puddle which some cane toads have hopped through and spread around the carport. Where does one place a trolley jack under these cars? (I had intended to buy a couple of those 'paddles' that fit into the side jacking points for this purpose but never got to it).

The car ran ok around the mountain on the 35degC day, but wouldnt hold an idle when I got back to stop/start traffic. Google seems to suggest this is not uncommon.

          Cheers

How recently have you last had your motor tuned up/serviced? Sounds like the oil leak could be static, either from rocker covers, push rod tubes or more likely the sump. As for the idling issue, that could be a number of things. Does your 912 have a stock motor? Let me know how you get on, cheers....

Sorry Dion I've got child entertainment duties... Seen the pics of your prior runs though. Great collection of cars, looks fun!
And great to see your 912 road trip!

Sorry not going to make it. Even gave it a wash and some fuel but it’s leaking too much oil. next time.

It was slightly a case of ‘spot the cop’ hiding in the bushes along the way! There were so many classics up the hill in the morning, especially early and mid century cars, including a late 1920’s Alfa and a DB5, not to mention tons of historic motorcycles!
