    Yesterday's PCNSW Concours

Just thought I'd post some photos of "not so" concours cars. I forgot to get the camera out, but as we were leaving Grant Geelans customers collection of cars was assembled and a I got a couple of snaps.

I'd love to have a go in their forest rally car, very sideways..... Oh and for you boys out there with a driving light fettish, knock yourselves out. Those are some lights ! (Memories of Datsun 1600 days. Out of interest anyone else own one of these very nimble little cars ?)

Great day with all of the usual suspects, weather was spectacular and if you got sick of looking at cars there was pleanty of other eye candy on the beach. Very interesting to see Mr Curnick and Mr Taylor judging 928's, a marque that they now know a lot about.

The day seemed to be favouring orange cars. A '74 ? 911 won the people's choice award and Bill Pye's Orange Targa car was a credit to the Autohaus boys. I can only think that Grant doesn't get a lot of sleep.

I'm sure the real concours cars photos will follow.

It was a great day in a beautiful location . Justin Reed did a great job of the organisation -- as usual . Next year we need to try and get a lot more TYP901 cars -- there was just a handful of older cars attending and even less of us actually competing in the wash and polish section . A bit of a let down from the most interesting cars--surely we could not all have been at Speed on Tweed or the Goodwood Revival Meeting ?

Matt, interesting shots as usual, the 356 one looks more '58 than '08, nice!

Keep the pictures coming coming guys.... love yours Matt. The
356 is a fresh restoration... a husband and wife have owned the car since the mid - late 60's. The colour was really quite stunning.

I cannot and will not take all of the credit for the day. Simon Arnold did an absolute mountain of work in the lead up to the event, and has really helped to take the event to a new level.

Thanks also to typ 901 judges John Shingleton, John Young and David Withers. Nick Taylor and Ryan Curnick also....

My RS display fizzed... I got one there... but I'm undeterred for next year... it will happen and there is a significant amount of interest out there.

                    Phil,

The rally car was left dirty for effect...its an ex London Sydney car... but the amount of detail work in the car is really fascinating. By all accounts its very quick.

The orange tarmac car is also a weapon... and is being prepared for Classic Adelaide... it was in the top 10 at Targa (ahead of a lot of very quick Evos and STi's) until an engine issue saw the car withdraw. Bill and Grant are gunning for Mr Broadbent and his yellow monster I think.

I heard on the grapevine that Rex is not running Classic this year? As are some other noteables.... will be interesting to see if that is the case.

Bill's car is a weapon, partly thanks to the way that Bill drives! He is bloody quick!

No Rex??? It looks like Alastair McCrae might be a possible starter though.....
