Kings Beach Caloundra Cars and Coffee

I went to this today. Organised by Michael Parker. There were over 20 nice cars there including Jim's (many) VWs! Some nice 356's as well. Lovely venue overlooking the ocean and near coffee shops and the Beach Tavern. Looks a growing event.

Artistic photo Merv. Yes great day
Looking forward to getting the ute out for a spin with your 356 on Sunday morning. I have gate duties from 2-4 on Sunday at the hill climb.

Nice Giocatollo there. Somebody will no doubt correct my spelling of it - I know it's wrong.

First I have heard of them Scotty. Interesting car that is for sure. I would love to take it for a spin.

Apparently they go like hell. Back in the late 80s I think Qld police trialled one or two of them. Or perhaps the builder did a police mock up to try and get the cops interested.
They were locally designed and built in Qld.

Thanks Tom and Scotty. Yes, Giocatollo (Toy), was short-lived Australian car company, founded in 1986 by sports car enthusiast Paul Halstead and Formula One designer Barry Lock. Jason, the owner of the blue car has it in pristine condition and has another one as well. One has the V6 and one the 8, I believe. Extremely fast and handle brilliantly with the mid engine.

Note the tool kit in the other one below (not Jason's)... maybe the Porsche kit should include a nice schnapps?
