How to post picture attachments to the forum

The forum will only allow you to attach pictures that are 200kb and below to your posts. Some people will have problems achieving this.ops: We will endeavour to provide you with easy and simple methods to shrink your photos to allow posting.

Below is/are methods to post your photos. If anyone has additional methods to shrink/compress photos that they believe would be useful for other members to know, please share this with us by emailing your method to forum_admin@typ901.org and I will add it to this sticky for others to see.

If you want to attach a photo, when you write up your post, below the Message Body is the Attachment Posting Control Panel. If you click “Add an attachment” you can add a photo. Above your message body (where you write), there is an Img button. This only allows you to link and show a photo that is hosted on another website (not attach as described below)

    Method/s

    1. If you use WindowsXP, one quick way is to get your photo ready to attach to a post is to open the picture in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer (just by clicking on the photo). Then simply right click on the photo and select “send to”, under this select “mail recipient”.

Another dialog box will come up Send Pictures via E-Mail. It will ask you if you want to resize the picture. Select “Make all my pictures smaller” and click OK.

Either an Outlook or Outlook Express email will appear with the photo (shrunk) will be attached. All you need to do is right click on the photo attachment and either cut or copy the attachment. You can copy it to your desk top or whatever folder you care. This photo should then be able to attach to your forum post as it will be small enough.
