    Whats the story

Guys, surfing around the various state Porsche clubs I don't think we are mentioned in any of the links sections.

What gives? Don't we fit in or something?

Anyone spoken to any of the state clubs to push our website?

We need to enlighten the masses

    Hi Cameron,

we are the "bastard" club amongst oficial Porsche clubs. We did try to become affiliated with Porsche both here and via Germany but our application arrived about one month after Porsche AG decided "no more independent Porsche Clubs !"

Therefore we are not able to be recognised by official Porsche clubs as their website content is strictly controlled by Porsche AG and we cannot be mentioned or linked.

Its a pity because we are by far the largest group of early 901 enthusiasts in Australia and even by world standards, are a significant group.

    So that's the reason.

Hmmm... not sure I'd know where to start Peter.

Are the 356 register or early S register affiliated? How do we compare numbers-wise?

Rich, the Australian 356 register is officially affiliated with Porsche and has around 800 + members australia-wide.

early S has "Members: 2,094, Active Members: 731 " as of today as listed on their Forum.

Our group has arbout 100 members. Not bad since they are all TYP901 related.

I believe DDK in the UK has over 1000 members but thats maybe just Forum members (??).

              Anyway, we are significant.

And Cyde has claimed the "No 1 bastard " membership , sorry.

That's a pity indeed. There's no way to try applying again?

As late as this morning my wife was convinced I was the #1 Bastard on the planet - I’ll now be able to tell her the position is filled.

Out of interest, do we know what proportion of the estimated number of 901’s in Australia our membership represents?

Actually she was an absolute "hornbag" (that means really attractive for you older members) - so wife #4 sacked her .

It was the one on the right Erwin - except she had on a "Boost Juice" t-shirt which Clyde ripped off her when she was given her marching orders by wife #4. (I wasn' aware that "Boost" was served in 'jugs' :p )
