USA member to visit Oz.

Hi all,

some of you met Kent Moore when he visited Sydney 2 years ago and we had breakfast at Pittwatter then a BBQ on my yacht.

Kent is a TYP901 members and is coming out here again in March. I managed to convince him to change his ticket so he can at least catch the Grand prix. Unfortunately, he wasnt able to get here the week earlier to be at Phillip Island.

I believe he is in Melbourne for 2-3 days, arriving sat 17 march. He wants to catch up with some members he knows, attend the GP and visit some Lygon St restaurants .

I would like to ensure his GP experience is a good one so does anyone have access to any corporate or other platforms where he could get a ticket for just the Sunday ? I understand these are always free , so let me know if anyone has some connections.

Kent is a great guy and a member of the Early S register and R Gruppe. he knows all the right people in So. Cal and has a beautiful Silver 73S. We look forward to repaying some of his hospitality when he is here.

He will also visit Sydney (where he has relatives) and would like to catch up (lunch, dinner of just coffee) with some Sydney members whilst there. I will post details of dates etc, once Kent confirms his itinerary. He was keen to see Ryans new car but will you be in Oz Ryan ??

Sorry no contacts for the GP ...unless you count the corrupt security guard that snuck myself and few mates in 2 years ago through the suppliers gate for $20....come to think of it he's probably lost his job by now

I have no GP Contacts for Melbourne but it's likely I'll be in Sydney on the weekend of the 24th & 25 the March if that works.....

i think i'm back on about the 18th of march (sunday) and will be happy to help out with some sydney hospitality for kent. let us know his NSW dates so we can sort out a drive and maybe a dinner or the like.

Looks like kent arrive into Melb. Sat 17th and plans to spend about 4-5 days here, then (I assume) on up to Sydney where he will proibably only have a day and evening to catch up with TYP901 guys after doing the "rellies" thing.

Will confirm his dates so we can make something official. perhaps a dinner with a few members would be good ?

I have pencilled in Sunday 18th or 25th March for the much rumoured day drive/barbeque to Culburra which was to be announced shortly.
I will e mail Kent to hopefully check his availability for the 25th to coincide with Cam's weekend in Sydney.
If Kent has to leave earlier,then we can do a dinner/coffee/why evening.
I will let you all know shortly.

Thats good Dennis - bear in mind Culburra is a 3 hour drive on a weekend, and probably longer on the return if on a Sunday - ie a big day so it may not suit Kent. I would suggest an early start - 7ish or so.

Kent just replied

Kent has just advised he gets into melb Sat 10.15am Mar 17, then departs for Sydney March 21. Hopes to join a drive on Sun Mar 25 then flies to Brisbane 26 mar.

I think we can confirm the 25 March as a drive date that suits both Kent and Cam - Cam can you pls confirm ?
I have had feedback re the destination Culburra/Nowra as maybe taking too long to get to and return in pm traffic.
Have a think about this and we will decide on Sunday 18 Feb.
Perhaps a shorter drive to the central coast ?

Sydney 901'ers,

Is a dinner feasible at Andrew B (Tiger's pub). Only bummer is uncertain 901 parking. A lunch maybe? Better parking?

We could supplement this with the usual breakfast venue at Stanwell Tops, and a ride over the new bridge (via the normal route through the National Park)

I've got access to a corporate chalet but we don't have any spare tickets.... I can get another - But it's about $1300 for the ticket and it's for the 4 days! Great spot turn 4. Any other year!

Its been suggested we might move the BBQ at Clydes house from March 4th to march 17th, which is the Saturday of the Grand prix weekend, so that Kent Moore could join us and meet more of the Melbourne members.

Seems there were a few who could not make the Mar. 4th date, so does the 17th suit everyone better ?
