    1971 2.4E Targa in Adelaide

    No affiliation...

Just have been contacted by a guy who wants to sell his 1971 E Targa.

    The car is Adelaide.

Believe the colour is the same as Ryan's E coupe that he recently sold.

Don't know what it is like, but Mark Poole did an inspection back in July 2005 for a member who ended up buying another more expensive car.

This car is for sale at $25,000.

I have asked the owner if it is okay to post his details, and will change upon his approval.

Did he replace his 2.2 or rebuild it to 2.4? Looks nice.

OK, found what i have on it... All this is by email - never actually saw the car.

It's a conversion from LHD by PO.
PPI'd by Mark Poole and apparently "the car did pass the test as a very good car for it's time".

                  Per the rego:
                  - Engine Number: 612 1923
                  - Chassis Number: 911 111 2463
                  - Year on Manufact: 1971

According to the owner, "the body and interior trim are in excellent condition. The paintwork is brilliant and there is no rust."

These cars don't seem to come much cheaper than this, and everyone has seen worse go for more money...

                  Cheers

Looks like it was only ever driven by a little old lady on Sundays (in tarmac rallies).

This car has just been purchased by a friend of a workmate of Julie's.
He lives in Melb so I'll be contacting him soon and (if he passes muster) will invite him to join TYP901.
I believe he paid the advertised price $25,000 - which is about all a Targa is worth
