TYP901 BBQ at Clyde's

I would sincerely like to thank Clyde and Lynne (wife no.4) for making their beatiful home available for our BBQ last Saturday evening. Both were perfect hosts - Clyde demonstrated his mastery with the BBQ tongs - even chucked on a few prawns for the benefit of Kent - and Lynne was just delightful as always.
Clyde, I wouldn't even consider looking for a no. 5.

Although I didn't venture into the bathtub ( aka 30°C pool), all the kids had a whale of a time.

I dropped past Clyde's yesterday afternoon and you guessed it - the place was again as clean as the underside of his Carrera's mudguards.:p

Heres a few wife #4 took. Pres is wondering how do I get hair like that, the host taking it easy talking to Kent Moore, kids in the pool, girls doing what girls do, Marcus and Nadia soon to be newly weds with a TYP 901 escort!!!

We had 28 bodies in total pity more couldn't make it but we had a good night nayway. Great to have Kent Moore one of our 6 USA members attend an actual TYP 901 function, the first O/Seas member to do so.

Kent Moore really had a great time at the BBQ and thanks all who were there and especially the hosts, Lynne and Clyde.

So far, Kent has been able to meet a lot of TYP901 members and spent time on Monday with Ian Henderson, Jason Carroll, Spencer Harrison and today drove the Great Ocean Road and met with Darren Sharp in Geelong and Dave Belford at Marks Johnsons workshop in nth melbourne.

I am sure Kent now realises we are truly a bunch of serious early 911 guys and that message will be taken home loud and clear to his US buddies.

Now its the turn of the Sydney guys to provide some hospitality this Sunday with a drive and brunch on Sunday.

I can say from first hand experience, that if and when you visit Southern California, similar hospitality is in store for you there from plenty of Early S and R Gruppe guys.

For those of you who dont visit the Early S registry site, here is a great pic of Kent presenting member Ian Henderson with an original factory poster of his 1968 London-Sydney rally car which has now been beautifully restored.

Ian has been asked to run it in next years re-run of the event where they hope to get cars that originally competed in the London-Sydney running again. What an adventure !
