IMHO Clyde's Targa was the best value in early 911's for many a long year.

Does any one know who its gone to? I believe it is here in Sydney.

BTW I think a couple of Sydney members know a bit about the green car - will they post on it though?

even as a complete novice, Clyde's targa was obviously special.

i guess it comes down to what the market will pay. If a 2.4S (with some special factory bits) modified to an RS-ish state sells for $195K then that's what it's worth.

it is a great looking car...

hell of a lot of money though...

                cheers

For what its worth the car is in very good condition....

Its sounds like the history they thought the car had, may not be so however.

Anyone care to add their knowledge of the car...?

                    tony

i was in Sydney a couple of weekends ago, heading back home on the Sunday and in the traffic on the Pacific Highway at Chatswood was Clydes Targa. I followed him (and her) up to the Mona Vale Road turn off where they headed south. Looked and sounded beautiful.

Clyde he had the headlights on and they appeared very bright, what globes were you running in the car?

probably that cheap taiwanese aftermarket headlight switch Clyde put in it has broken and its stuck on high beam...

Nice to hear its being driven at least.

Headlights wre STD Porsche units purchased from Bob Whyms (cheaper there than anywhere else I could find) with correct globes. I would say the fact they were new is why they are so bright.

Yes the new factory heat extractors and new exhaust did have a great note on that car.

The green car was in Qld at Terry Healeys for ages I guess 2 years ago, maybe 3.

found out this car was part of pat burke's collection, special order many options 1/6 aust. delivered with scuds upgrading engine to 2.8 rs prior to delivery.
he had a number of serious porsches until his empire went belly up in the early 90's and the liquidators moved in, from memory.
some of his others cars were shipped to the uk and sold there..? eoe

The ex-Burke Green 2.4/2.8 L Car changed hands 12-ish months ago.....

...was on offer for around $85k from memory......I saw it then, it's pristine.

I saw it today, it still is pristine. Inside is original, showing patina but very tidy and good for age. It was delivered with lots of factory options inc LSD and it appears that the half cage, rear quarters and 2.8 upgrade were all done by SVM prior to delivery - confirmed by PA letter and also original parts order. It is a bloody nice car and I suspect when driven it would be even bloody nicer. Great colour and paint job. What is it worth? As always, what someone is prepared to pay! It is certainly an Oz delivered matching number 2.4S, with the funky 72 oil filler door as well. I have heard good things about it mechanically.
