    Thredbo event change of plans

The small band that was driving to Thredbo in mid May have today concluded that we don't really have the critical mass of bods/cars to adequately plan for a National meeting in Thredbo during Autumn 2008.

Instead, we have decided that possibly a better strategy is to plan for a Spring (mid October) event in Thredbo (2 or 3 nights depending on commitments) that will not be a precursor to anything - just a simple weekend with a couple of lovely drives and dinners. And if it turns out to be pleasurable enough, it may lead to a larger gathering some time in the future.

It may be premature, but who would be interested in a weekend in Thredbo from Friday 12 October through to the following Sunday or Monday? That is 6 months away. The weather will be lovely, the roads will be uncrowded and accommodation will be good value.

    Tony,

Starting the discussion and 'presell' as I type...

We should probably float the idea of a couple of the more modern 4 door cars joining us with wives and children to make the drive a little easier..

    On the case now

    Shane

Just thought - when Bathurst? - I've committed to that....

ah... i was just typing that I was all for it...

then had a heart starting moment when i realised it is my birthday that weekend...

then my heart stopped when i remembered that i will be turning 30... so might be occupied that weekend... but then again, maybe i can sell it as my birthday treat!! who needs family when you're getting old anyway?!

        Cheers

Those dates (12-14 Oct) are no good for me - annual golf club trip to Yarrawonga (already booked)
Also I have commitments on Oct 28, Nov 18 and Dec 9
            Any other weekends OK.

            Bathurst is 4-7 October

...and therein lies the problem. Peter do you know how to set up a poll nominating all the weekends in October and say the first two in November, so that everyone could vote for the dates they would be available/interested in?

              Or Erwin?...

Peter youre such a social butterfly with all this planned engagements for the year.

Unfortunately I am in California that weekend with my kids on the end of our RTW trip.

Isnt mid October still a little risking for ice and snow ?

I'll be in the US from mid October to the start of November.

I'll create a poll now and see how people vote.
