Basket Weave or not to Basket Weave!

Hi - all ... can anyone confirm for me up to what year 911 was basket weave used on the front dash panel .. I have a 73 RS Replica
(built on an aussie 1973 911E base) and I am redoing the front dash and installing a blaupunkt frankfurt. In seaching out for items for a dash restoration I recently purchased a NOS original porsche roll of basket weave (narrow and specifically for the dash) that I came across - but my research tells me that this was only used in models pre 73.Though I did see a pic on the web of another 73 RS replica with the basket weave on the dash and doors.

I would appreciate any thoughts and advice - I have been told not to basket weave!!

You were told right...

I believe Basket Weave went form '69 through '71

Yep, basket weave is NOT correct for your later model 901. Just plain black vinyl was used, but of course the correct pattern plain vinyl !
